Lately we have been having a lot of fun taking pictures of ourselves on Daddy's computer. Ha ha.

Ava's Birthday

For Ava's birthday we decided to take the kids to the zoo in Des Moines. They had never been to the zoo but had always wanted to go. We didn't tell them where we were going just that we had a super surprise for them. They were way excited. So we packed a picnic lunch and headed to Blank Park Zoo. It wasn't until after we'd bought our tickets and were headed for the animals that Ava said, "We are at the zoo!" It wasn't a very big zoo but it was just perfect for a first time zoo experience for the kids. We saw flamingos, sea otters, swans, ducks, lions, a tiger, monkeys, seals, penguins, goats, chickens, snakes, fish, jelly fish, sea horses, an emu, wallabys, lots of birds, giraffes, etc. We all had tons of fun and were really glad we went. Afterwards we ate our picnic at a park and played on the playground. That night we had a way fun birthday party with Aunt Cassie and Uncle Mike and Grandma and Grandpa Kindred. Ava got lots of presents and Jonah got a few also. Their family was very kind and generous to give so many nice things. The kids especially like the dress-ups (as you can see in this photo of Jonah). Ava told us, "Today all my dreams come true. I am so happy." Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special day:)
